Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis pinot noir rosé, sourced from Lazy River Vineyard in the Similkameen Valley, pours a stylish pale pink thanks to just a couple of hours (plus a few minutes) of skin contact. It's restrained yet complex, showing pink grapefruit and wild strawberry with an attractive orange blossom lift. Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOeil de Perdrix, or the eye of the partridge, is an old French expression used to describe pale pink rosé champagnes. In this case, it aptly describes the Mt. Boucherie Rosé. In fact, this Cawston rosé has all the spare manner of a stony, dusty Similkameen pink, with notes of strawberries. It is much drier this year, making it readily suited to food. Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaModest Wines is a fairly new stand alone line from the folks at Mt Boucherie, spearheaded by GM Jesse Harnden (ex of Hatch Wines), and originally intended to be consumed in their on-site Modest Butcher Restaurant. Oeil-de-Perdrix is French for 'eye of the partridge', a colour supposedly similar to the eyes of that game bird, and oft used to categorize wine hues. This pinot noir rosé is sourced from Similkameen's Lazy River Vineyard, and was soaked on skins for just 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 24 seconds. The pale hued rosé streaks across the palate, with wild strawberries, tangerine, cherry imbued with ample salinity and even more verve. Impressive rosé.Tasted: 20 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:
