Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Bourgogne Chardonnay 2019

Burgundy, FranceThis family has been cultivating vines for more than 8 generations, since approximately 1620. Today they cultivate 30 hectares of vines across 35 appellations. This chardonnay comes off 25 year old vines, rooted in calcareous clays. It was fermented and aged in stainless. This opens with a swing of reduction imbuing a flinty saltiness to this medium bodied white. Lemon peel, pith, green apple, is woven with ample salinity, running over a bed of sea stones to a shorter finish. This holds its 14% very well, and is drinking smartly now.Tasted: 31 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
