Château Pesquié Terrasses Blanc 2020

Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceTerrasses appears on the Chaudiere family's three signature labels: the red, white, and rosé blends. It honours the work done by their ancestors, carving terraces into the Pyrenees hillsides around the winery. The spare limestone soils, once deeply immersed below sea level, supply the perfect medium for growing grapes in the relatively cool climate setting of Mont Ventoux. Tension and freshness are the white wine goals, and tasting 2020 alongside 2021, it is fair to say both remain fresh. It opens with bright citrus and white flowers on the nose. The blend is a 40/20/20/20 mix of viognier, grenache blanc, roussanne, and clairette, all farmed biodynamically since 2015. Post ferment, it is blended and aged in concrete and stainless steel vats. The 2020 is less electric on the palate with less lemon, and more lime and weight. Still tasty, but needs drinking over the next six months.Tasted: 16 March 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
