Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis begins with redolent cherry, nutmeg, pomegranate and vanilla before lush, elegant, savoury fruit that is prominently mulberry, along with some elevated intensity, soft tannins and supporting acidity. A distinct style of ripe, savoury berry that shows the diversity of Naramata Bench pinot noirs. Dwight Sick, formerly of Stags Hollow and Moraine Vineyard, is the consulting winemaker here, and this is the first vintage from the winery's McMillan Vineyard.Tasted: 01 September 2023Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaChain Reaction is a new label on the Naramata Bench, just down Naramata Road from Little Engine, Red Rooster, and Ruby Blues. Joel and Linda Chamaschuk have combined their passion for cycling and wine with this new venture, and the team is rounded out by consulting winemaker Dwight Sick. This pinot noir is their first vintage from McMillan Vineyard, and it's a serious new entry among Naramata pinots. It shows a complex, enticing combination of bright, expressive fruit and earthy savouriness, sweet dark cherry and beetroot, alongside well integrated toasty oak (15% new French). Seamlessly balanced with crisp acidity and silky tannins, this is a beautiful expression of vintage and place, which evolves nicely in the glass and becomes even better on day two. Recommended and well-priced.Tasted: 11 May 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Pendulum Pinot is grown on the Naramata Bench. The fermentation of cold soaked whole berries begins gently with the indigenous yeast population and never exceeds 25C. It is all oak aged to a maximum of 15 percent new wood. It was a terrific year for fruit, exemplified by this all-McMillan Vineyard fruit harvested at just under 2.5 tons to the acre. The attack is juicy and enticing, mixing black cherries, black plums, farmyard, cranberry, and mostly soft tannins. It is effortless sipping and a perfect foil to chicken, duck, or mushroom dishes. Well made and a welcomed newcomer on the bench. Joel and Linda Chamaschuk own Chain Reaction, and the wine is overseen by veteran BC winemaker Dwight Sick, formerly of Stags Hollow and Moraine Vineyard.Tasted: 22 February 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaChain Reaction is a relatively new virtual winery, based on the Naramata Bench, owned by Joel and Linda Chamaschuk, and named for their love of cycling. Originally from the Lower Mainland, they've been enjoying BC wine since 1991, and finally decided to become part of the industry, purchasing an orchard on the Bench, and planting their first vineyard in 2019. Well-known winemaker Dwight Sick oversees the wines, made at nearby Moraine Winery. This pinot, of their McMillan vineyard, was destemmed and native fermented, prior to aging in oak (15% new) until bottling, without fining or filtration. Juicy and fruit forward, with ripe black cherry, black plum, baked raspberry, on a bright palate, with a tart rhubarb acidity brightening the whole, and finely grippy tannins to house. A very promising start.Tasted: 13 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:
