Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Rust Syrah (orange waxed capsule) comes off South Rock Vineyard at the southern end of the Golden Mile Bench. The site is home to some of the oldest vines in BC, and the syrah is perhaps the most fragrant and enticing of the four labels. The fruit is aromatic and bright with solid and floral undertones and rich plum over black and blue fruit flavours. It is a big red but balanced, before silky, peppery textures fill in the finish thanks to well-managed tannins. It is aged 16 months in American and French oak, of which some 42 percent is new.
