Calliope Figure 8 Red 2019
British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Figure 8 is a blend of merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, with a tip of petit verdot and malbec to perfume. The fruit comes off Osoyoos and Oliver vineyards, and was fermented in tank before resting in oak barrels to finish MLF and rest 9 months. This is somewhat disjointed, with a sweet and sour / ripe fruit and bitter sourness, wrapped with amply toasted wood, and finishing off with an astringent earthy twinge, alongside a puff of heat.
