Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFrom Trius' 2 estate vineyards, this was fermented in a mix of open topped wood fermenters and stainless, before aging in a mix of 60% large French casks and 40% in barrels, prior to the final blending and bottling. Dark cherry, dark plum is imbued with a faint smoky medicinal note, with bright lifted acidity and long lightly sticky tannins. The finish lingers with sarsaparilla and peppercorns.
