Malivoire Le Coeur Gamay 2020
Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaMalivoire is one of Canada's top gamay specialists, with numerous expressions and releases each vintage. Le Coeur comes off their home estate on the Beamsville Bench, and was native fermented whole cluster / semi-carbonically. Post ferment, this rested 6 months in neutral French puncheons before being bottled unfiltered. Floral and lifted, with ample wild flowers, peonies, wild plum, wild strawberry, tea leaves on a finessed, medium bodied palate. Acidity is bright, and tannins are long and lightly grippy, guiding this youthful wine to a saline, lightly warming finish.
