Clos Lentiscus Croac Croac Pink 2018

Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainFrom the biodynamic and biodiverse world of Penedès' Clos Lentiscus, in Catalonia, this natural / organic / biodynamic 50/50 blend of Ull de llebre and Xarel.lo Vermell (red xarel.lo) is from El Xanguet vineyard, and 38 year old vines. After a native ferment in stainless, this blend remained there until it was bottled the following spring, with nothing added or deleted. This is their take on the traditional clarete blend of red and white grapes, popular in Spain more than a century prior. More a lighter red in hue, this is lifted with tart rhubarb, choke cherry, mustard seed, rinsed with an astringent VA. Tannins are light and lightly sticky, taking this to a tart finish. Certainly very natty, try this frog with a chill and some pickled veg / cured fish.Tasted: 12 January 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
