Hajszan-Neumann Nussberg Grüner Veltliner 2020

Wien (Vienna), AustriaTasted again a year along, and this just hints at the magisterial staying power of grüner veltliner. Weingut Hajszan Neumann is located at the foot of the Nussberg and the district of Grinzing, with 20 hectares of certified biodynamic vineyards spread across the region's mineral-rich, weathered limestone soils. This cuvée comes from the cooler Weisleiten and Haarlocke vineyards. After a short maceration on skins, this was native fermented in stainless, where it remained until the following spring. Bright and fresh, though now with a slight honeyed slick, this streams verbena, pear skin, crab apple, river stones along a streamlined palate, seasoned with subtle white pepper and pithy wild lime. Under stelvin, this will continue to go the distance, becoming even more interesting as it ages.Tasted: 16 October 2022Tasted by: Prices:
