Tetramythos Naturɛ Agiorgitiko 2019

Peloponnese, GreecePanayiotis Papagiannopoulos, known for being one of the most innovative wine producers in Greece, is the co-owner and oenologist behind the wines of Kalavryta's Tetramythos, in Greece's stunning Peloponnese. Panayiotis has worked to save local grapes from extinction, and often employees amphora in his organic wines (it is in this ancient region that the first "pithos" (amphora) are said to have been made. Their wines all come from from Tetramythos’ rocky 800m vineyards. This low-intervention (Naturɛ) agiorgitiko was native fermented over 3 months in stainless, with another couple of months' rest prior to bottling, without fining or filtration and very little sulphur. Juicy and vibrant, with downy plum, wild black currant, sapid cherry, a twist of tart rhubarb, and a dusting of fine black pepper. Tannins are lightly sticky, and acidity is mountainous lofted. Enjoy with a slight chill, and some lamb kabobs or shellacked grilled tofu.Tasted: 21 November 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
