Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Zweigelt 2017

Wien (Vienna), AustriaFrom the limestone, clay and chalk soils of Vienna's Nussberg, these zweigelt vines range from 35-50 years old and were farmed and vinified biodynamically. After destemming and native ferment, this moved to oak barrels (1/4 new) for 18 months, after which it was bottled without fining or filtration, and with minimal sulphur. Wild blackcurrant, sapid plum, black raspberry flood a juicy, textural palate, hugged by sticky fine tannins, and threaded with mustard seed and cracked black peppercorn. The finish is flushed with a slight medicinal warmth and ample stony salinity. Enjoy now with a slight chill.Tasted: 24 November 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
