Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaGSM, grenache syrah mourvedre, is mixed at roughly one-third each, all fermented separately before ageing for 16 months in new and neutral French and American oak. Not as jammy as last year, there is more purity of fruit in 2016 and more balanced flavours reflecting a standout vintage. Look for black plums and cherries with a hint of smoked meat and fine acidity. The tannins are soft and silky throughout its floral, peppery finish.
