Nichol Vineyard Syrah Nate's Vineyard 2019
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNate's Syrah is Nichol's younger vine estate syrah, named for the owners' son, and planted in 2007-2010 on granite bedrock and glacial till at the southern part of the property. From the Beaucastel clone from WA State, these vines are dry farmed, destemmed and with 2 weeks of skin contact before going into neutral barrel for 12-14 months. It was bottled without fining or filtration. Wild blackberry, thorns, cracked peppercorn flood the juicy palate, framed by fine, lightly downy tannins which hug this to the amply white pepper finish.
