Nichol Vineyard Syrah Nate's Vineyard 2018
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNate's Syrah is Nichol's younger vine estate syrah, named for the owners' son, and planted in 2007-2010 on granite bedrock and glacial till. From the Beaucastel clone from WA State, these vines are dry farmed, with 2 weeks of skin contact before going into neutral barrel for 12-14 months. Shepherds Pie! Incredible peppercorns, dusky plum, flood a savoury, meaty, potent palate, with youthful black cherry, wild blackberry, and thorns. Drinking stunning now, and will over the next few years easy.
