Laya Garnacha Monastrell Vieilles Vignes 2020

Almansa, Castilla-La Mancha, SpainA familiar silver leaf label on our market, Bodegas Atalaya, was founded in 2007 by Jumilla's Gil Family. It blends 75% garnacha and 25% monastrell rooted around 1000m in Almansa. It spent four months in French oak before bottling. Dense and potent with smoked stone interwoven with ripe cassis, kirsch, dusky blackberry, blackest espresso, and tar. Tannins are ample but plush and velveteen, hosting this to a peppery finish. Take this youthful rustic red with roast beef or winter squash.Tasted: 17 September 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
