Laya Garnacha Monastrell Vieilles Vignes 2009

Almansa, Castilla-La Mancha, SpainThe mix here is 70/30 garnacha tintorera and monastrell and it over delivers for the price. Give me a savoury fruit nose and flavour with some soft chalky tannins and I'm happy at this price. There a touch of oak to balance the liquorice and black fruit and the coffee notes. Perfect for grilled meats and again the price is terrific.Tasted: 14 February 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
