El Petit Bonhomme Tinto 2019

Jumilla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainPetit is made with passion, but it is meant to be drinkable when you crack the screwcap. Winemaker Nathalie Bonhomme keeps the yields down to intensify the flavours. It is all hand harvested and fermented in small stainless steel vats. It goes through malolactic fermentation in 225L French oak barrels for the monastrell and syrah, and 300L American oak for the garnacha. All is aged for six months in oak. The fruit is pure and light with a black cherry lead mixed with black plums, dried herbs, and black pepper. Balanced, smooth, and tasty, it is well suited to lamb chops, hamburgers, or meaty pizza. The monastrell comes off 25 year+ bush vines, adding complexity to a well made red. Back up the truck.Tasted: 17 September 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
