Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalThe 2020 version of this wine jumps from the glass with amazing freshness. There is no more storied Portuguese family than the Guedes, now five generations deep into viticulture, dating back to the 1870s. The 150-hectare estate has been home to the family since the 15th century. The mix here is two classic regional white grapes, loureiro and alavarinho. It is stainless steel fermented and left on its lees, instilling a cool fresh style with citrus, apple highlights, ripe melon, and a tight, salty mineral finish.
