Moon Curser Contraband Syrah 2019

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Bartsh Vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench, the Contraband has an opulence and richness that distinguishes it from Moon Curser's main tier syrah. It's bursting with ripeness, clocking in at 15.7% abv, with a combination of dense, dark berry fruit, desert shrub, and white pepper. This sees 29% new Hungarian oak, but that's firmly in the background thanks to the incredible fruit density. Full-bodied and hedonistic, while still very much true to the variety and place. Sold out at the winery, so you may have to call in some favours to smuggle a bottle. Or just join Moon Curser's wine club.Tasted: 12 July 2021Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
