Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAt 50 degrees+ north, this high elevation riesling block near historical Carr's Landing is the source of this Lake Country traditional method sparkler that gets 12 months of ageing on its lees. The power of riesling is its fruity bent, and this delicious citrus bubble is all that and more. At five grams per litre dosage of sugar, it appears mostly dry, tight, and vibrant and best suited to being served with food. Goat cheese or baked brie would work. Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom a high elevation block of riesling at Carr's Landing Vineyard in Lake Country, this traditional method sparkling wine aged on its lees for nearly a year before disgorgement, though it's not overly autolytic. It's fruit-driven with no shortage of riesling character, led by zesty lime and aromatic white blossoms, with good character and definition to the fruit. The palate is quite racy and austere, with just a 5 g/L dosage, and a soft mousse. Peak Cellars Sparkling Riesling 2019

Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the winery's inaugural Riesling fizz, a traditional method sparkling harvested from Block 4, one of the highest sites in their estate vineyard. This aged on lees for near a year, and was dosed with sugar dissolved in a base of 2019 Riesling Block 11 wine, adding 5 g/L RS. My bottle opened with a mere trickling of effervescence, which dissipated quickly in the glass, leaving tight lime blossom and peel, crunchy green pear, green apple, and a streak of riesling's tell-tale acidity on the dry, chalky palate.
