Hester Creek Old Vine Brut 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2018 is the inaugural vintage of Hester Creekâs sparkling Blanc de Blanc made from old vine pinot blanc. The fermentation lasted 12 days before the wine was racked off the heavy lees and further aged in stainless on the fine lees. The base wine was laid down en tirage for 24 months allowing the pinot blanc to develop the classic rich and creamy autolytic characters that come with time. The half century old pinot blanc vines have given their best to this bubble, from a light golden colour to an inviting mix of brioche and toast over green apple and ripe pear. Fresh and vibrant, it is a fine start and likely one that will be even better in three to five years with some bottle ageing.
