Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSwitchback refers to the road leading up from Lake Okanagan to this pristine, certified organic Summerland vineyard that is thriving under the vineyard management of Okanagan Crush Pad. This is wild fermented and aged in concrete tanks for ten months. It spends time on its gross lees creating creamy textures that add weight and complexity to a grape that suffers from serious attention worldwide. The colour is more Alsace gold as it ages, but the palate remains Okanagan electric. Expect classic Okanagan minerals, desert scrub, sagebrush and honey to combine and deliver a mouthful of delicious wine. A pinot gris with style and structure made for food.Tasted: 23 February 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from the organic certified Switchback Vineyard in Summerland, this was whole bunch pressed to concrete tanks, where it was wild fermented. This shows a beautiful combination of crunchy Asian pear, soft peach, chalk, and an attractive flinty reductive accent after aging on its lees for 10 months. It's mineral driven and textured, both restrained and concentrated, with a crisp, pithy finish. This is serious Okanagan pinot gris that's only going to get better with 3-4 years in bottle. Recommended.Tasted: 04 August 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOkanagan Crush Pad is surrounded by Switchback Vineyard, a biodynamically farmed site just beginning to hit its stride. This is wild fermented and aged in concrete tanks for ten months, spending time on its gross lees, forming creamy textures and going through a full malolactic fermentation. The colour is Alsace gold, but the palate is Okanagan fresh, and the intensity is too. Minerals and desert scrub grass, sagebrush, and honey end with a super fresh finish. An intriguing pinot gris that has the structure to be on the dinner table.Tasted: 25 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSwitchback Pinot Gris is a special wine of place sourced from Haywire's certified organic home vineyard in Summerland. It was whole-bunch-pressed and native fermented in concrete, where it underwent full MLF and then remained on lees for 10-months before bottling unfiltered. Desert pear, yellow apple, elderflower floods a juicy, creamy palate, seasoned with dried sage. Acidity is gentle, the texture is ample, and the finish is long. It's drinking well now and benefitting from time in bottle, like all winemaker Matt Dumayne's wines.Tasted: 05 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:
