Stag's Hollow Tempranillo 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaStag's Hollow may have made me less of a skeptic of Okanagan Falls tempranillo, which is something I wasn't expecting to write anytime soon. Compared to the Joven, this is riper and richer, both darker-fruited and more savoury. Alongside black cherry and plum, there's tobacco, leather, and perfumed spices, the latter perhaps from the dollop of syrah (4.9%). The emphasis is still on the fruit, with very little impact from oak, and there's some secondary character after 20 months in barrel.
