Fort Berens Grüner Veltliner 2020
British Columbia, CanadaThis grüner veltliner comes off Bordertown Vineyard, in Osoyoos, and is in wait of their estate crop of GV, due for the 2021 or 2022 vintage. This ripe, creamy view was whole cluster pressed, and cold fermented, and you can taste it: the clinically cool ferment up against the Southern Okanagan's sun-ripeness. The result is a bit jarring, with angular unripe pear, crab apple, asparagus buffered with a creamy mid-palate, and finishing with a sour crab apple note.
