Domaine Duseigneur Yamakasi 2020

Rhone Valley, FranceYamakasi translates as spirit / strong man, and it's the name that Bernard Duseigneur wanted to name his new natural cuvée. This organic and biodynamic blend of grenache, syrah, cinsault is from 45 year old vines in the clay and limestone soils of Lirac. Naturally made, this was semi-carbonic for the syrah, with direct pressing of grenache and cinsault, and minimal sulphur used. Very youthful and fruited, with perfumed plum, juicy raspberries, candied strawberries, florals on a softer palate, with low tannins, and ample pink peppercorn spice. Sadly, this went mousey after being open a day. Better luck for a cleaner result next time.Tasted: 13 May 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
