Poggio Anima Samuel Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2018

Abruzzo, ItalyPoggio Anima is a joint project between Toscana's Le Ragnaie, and one of their American importers to highlight different regions and indigenous grapes around Italy. Each cuvée in the colourful series is named for fantastic mythical beasts. This montepulciano comes from a clay / limestone vineyard in Abruzzo, and vines 24 years old. After 2 weeks on skins for ferment, this was pressed into neutral French barrique for 6 months. Juicy and teeming with wild blackberry, black plum, boysenberry on a medium palate, with silken tannins housing a softer core. Friendly and easy and set for smashing now.Tasted: 21 April 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
