Caro 2015
Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaCARO takes its name from family winery partners Catena and Rothschild. In 2015 the blend is 85/15 malbec and cabernet sauvignon. Given how tough the growing season was, the wine has emerged in fine shape six years down the road. A little less of everything in 2015 has left the wine looking quite elegant. The malbec continues to dominate more and more each year which is fine with me. It comes off the oldest blocks of vineyards in Paraje Altamira and Las Compuertas. After 18 months in French barriques (60% were new) the cooler vintage has left it elegant and fresh, allowing the wine to show as much class as possible. You can drink this now or hold it through 2025.Tasted: 01 April 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $62.99 | 750ml | select private retailers |
