Secret de Famille Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir 2018

Burgundy, FranceThe Bourgogne tag puts a lot of pressure on any French pinot noir, but not every label can be a Grand Cru. At $20, the Bichot Secret de Famille Bourgogne Rouge is as rare as Grand Cru, at least price-wise. The Bichot Secret de Famille (Family Secret) is made with carefully sourced grapes from the Côte d’Or only, around Pommard, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin and Marsannay. It is aged in French oak barrels for 10-12 months. The style is soft and laid back with warm earthy strawberry, blueberry to an easy sipping finish. An introductory pinot for the mid-week dinner table.Tasted: 30 March 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
