Les Quatre Tours Classique Rosé 2018

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, Provence, Sud de France, FranceLes Quartre Tours is a group of quality-driven producers farming around 270 hectares of land around the villages of Venelles, Puyricard, and Puy Ste Reparade in the rolling hills just north of Aix en Provence. It first came into existence in 1924 as a co-op for bulk wine. However, in the 1990s a group of the winegrowers decided to completely change the direction of the co-op, and model themselves on a small, quality winery. They began working sustainably and organically, installed new equipment in the winery, and hired an oenologist. Now each parcel is managed according to its terroir, regardless of the individual owners' boundaries. Classique is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in marl and chalk hillsides around 250 to 400 metres. Pouring a very pale rosé, this is filled with raspberries, wild strawberries, pink grapefruit, big spicing, on a fuller, silken palate. The cabernet bumps up the structure, while altitude and soils easy hold it bright. Drinking well now.Tasted: 04 March 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
