Protea Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Coastal Region, South AfricaThis cabernet sauvignon came primarily from the Groenekloof ward in the Darling, an area known for its freshness. Post ferment, it was aged on a French oak staves for one year, imparting a characteristic stunted, powdery texture to this fuller red. Milk chocolate, sour cherry, tart red and blackcurrant finishes short and blunt, with a muddle of spicing. Little to zero typicity here for modern South Africa, unfortunately.
