Moon Curser Dolcetto 2019

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis rarely-seen dolcetto grows in Fernandes Vineyard, on Osoyoos East Bench's loamy sands. This was destemmed and not crushed, fermented cool in 5000L stainless with thrice daily pumpovers for a week prior to being pressed off skins. It remained in stainless until it was bottled the following March. Downy and soft in the glass, with some stewed plum, blackcurrant, and gently perfumed liquorice scenting a tiny, leathery base. Tannins are fine but astringent, finishing with a pinched bitter cherry note.
