Moon Curser Dolcetto 2017

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is one of two dolcettos grown in BC, here planted in 2013 on Osoyoos East Bench's loam, sand and granite soiled Fernandes Vineyard. Meaning little sweet one in Italian, dolcetto is Piemontese in origin. Moon Curser smartly chose to follow their tradition of making fruity, oak-free wines for early consumption. Dusky plum, muddied blueberry, prune, cherry jam on an easy, round, medium bodied palate. There's a bitter green herbal twinge here with hard press tannins that finish with a bitter, short finish. Whole berry and cool fermented in large stainless with thrice daily pumpovers, this spent a short stint in stainless before bottle. Best enjoyed with a chill, and alongside sausage pizza.Tasted: 29 November 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
