Kitsch 5 Barrel Pinot Noir

Kitsch 5 Barrel Pinot Noir 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada5 Barrel is their premium pinot noir, with a barrel selection amounting to 121 cases produced this vintage. This was 35% whole cluster and entirely native fermented from their East Kelowna estate, with a 5-day cold soak and 17 days on skins before ageing in French oak for eight months (60% new). You can feel the wood shading this fuller, spiced pinot noir, plumped on the palate with sultry dark plums, brandied cherries, ripe blackberry. Tannins are wood spiced but supple, well integrated into the fruit. A supple, spiced, darker-toned pinot that could easily meet skirt steak or hearty grilled portobellos.Tasted: 19 December 2020Tasted by: Prices: BC 69.00 winery online/direct, select private retailers Producer: Kitsch WinesDistributors: Winery Direct
