Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaInitially, this has balanced scents of rich cherry, clove, nutmeg and sandalwood with a growing component of earthiness and underbrush. Later, plum skin, florals, blueberry, crushed green leaf, lilac, and marionberry emerge. The core has savoury cherry with juicy acidity, some earthiness, lightly taut tannins, with black and blue fruits predominating and an apparent, focused intensity through the finish. The texture stood out in an unfolding finishing sequence of flavour elements, including clay, plum, cherry, pomegranate, a touch of graphite, and elegant darker fruits. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis single vineyard pinot noir, sourced from the north Okanagan, is darker fruited than its estate sibling, showing dark cherry and black raspberry accented by layers of spice and considerable oak influence (60% new French). Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom a single North Okanagan vineyard, 5 Barrel is aged for eight months in several French oak barrels, of which 60 percent were new. The best five barrels make the cut and lead to a fresh, aromatic nose that backs off the heavier styling of the past. The palate is well- knit and balanced at only 13.3 percent alcohol, leaving the black cherry, dark plum vibrant and silky as it feeds into a long soft spicy finish. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis single vineyard pinot was destemmed with 25 days on skins before resting in French oak (60% new) for 8 months. As the name suggests, this is a 5 barrel selection. This is a step up in cohesion over their estate pinot, with a dark fruited core of sultry plum, wild blackberry, black cherry, dark cocoa held with a silken glove of tannins, finishing with a dusting of perfumed violets and baking spice.
