Valle de Leyda, Valle de San Antonio, Region de Aconcagua, ChileFrom the granitic soils of Lomas de Leyda Estate in Leyda Valley, this Chilean pinot is on the riper, fuller side of the spectrum, at least as far as pinot goes. It shows sweet red fruits with subtle herbs and oak spices after aging in barriques for 10 months. There's also a hint of evolution now at 3 years of age. The elevated fruit ripeness translates to a fleshy palate, with an appealing glycerous, plush texture that makes this ready to drink now. Well made and good value.Tasted: 17 September 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Valle de Leyda, Valle de San Antonio, Region de Aconcagua, ChileAs the years tick by, it is clear the world is catching up to Burgundy when it comes to pinot noir. It's not that they are creating Côte d'Or reds that rival the French standard, but they are making wines that respect the grape, and they seem to be getting the most out of their terroir. Case in point, Sibaris 2018. This Leyda Valley pinot noir opens with earthy, forest floor that underlies a sweet pinot entry full of ripe, cherry before finishing with a touch of poultry spice. Clean, fleshy and at 13.5 percent alcohol, very drinkable. Good value at $18.Tasted: 01 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:
