Phantom Creek Estates Phantom Creek Vineyard Syrah 2017
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom one of the most famous vineyards in the south Okanagan, the Phantom Creek Syrah, like last year, leaves me astonished at its texture and elegance. The fruit is left to shine on its own, falling somewhere between the Northern Rhone garrigue style and a south Okanagan desert sagebrush affair. It is Barossa opulent with peppery, jammy, black cherry from a vineyard exposure to the late setting sun as well as a St. Joseph firmness and dryness that lives in its smoky, peppery back end.
