Phantom Creek Estates Cabernet Franc / Merlot 2017
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI'm a fan of the cabernet franc/merlot blend, and this 68/32 mix illustrated why the cuvée is such a winner in the Okanagan. A selection of barrels for each variety was chosen from across the estate's vineyards on the east and west sides of the valley to create a bold, savoury red. The texture, grace, and red fruit from the merlot disappear into the boisterous, savoury, herbal, desert scrub notes of the cabernet franc.
