Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Naramata sweet spot in the middle of the Okanagan Valley seems tailor made for pinot. Lok for spicy, cherry, raspberry, black cherry, even riper than last year. The palate is satiny soft and the pinot mouthfilling and sweet but with a balancing undercurrent of earthy, rooty, spicy notes that keep it all together through a long persistent finish. Impressive texture and length, and only 13.7 percent alcohol. Sonoma, lookout. A perfect wine for Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey dinners.
