River Stone Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThere is no big change in a surprisingly solid bottle of sauvignon that joins a growing number of BC bottles that are establishing this variety as more than ordinary. The grapes are grown just North of Oliver on the cooler, west side of the valley, in sandy loam deposited during the last glaciation. With a bump of residual sugar at 7.7 grams per litre, as we said last time, it is more Californian than Kiwi. The attack is tropical with pink grapefruit, gooseberry and vibrant minerality spilling across the palate and finish.
