Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyThe abbazia (abbey) of Novacella has been around since the 12th century at the Northern end of Alto Adige’s Isarco Valley, on the steep slopes of the Dolomites. Vines have been growing in the area for at least 850 years. The abbasia own many vineyards, and farm many others based on ancient relationships. Forget what you know about not grigio; this is serious stuff. Tight, nervy, mineral-driven, with crisp pear, green apple, lemon verbena streaking across the sleek, subtle palate.
