Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2018 vintage brings some evolution to Laughing Stock's pinot noir program. Unlike previous vintages, this is predominantly sourced from Okanagan Falls, specifically Arterra's Thomas Ranch Vineyard. The winemaking is still true to Laughing Stock's hedonistic house style, but the partial use of whole cluster fermentation has added some stemmy complexity to complement the lush black fruits, with the oak also dialled back a notch. The palate is suave and almost glycerous, with supple tannins that will make this an easy pour for fans of ripe New World pinot noir.Tasted: 24 July 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPinot for malbec fans, this punchy, potent, warming pinot packs a lot of power, in every way. Predominantly, Okanagan Falls it tips in 5% Naramata Bench fruit. After a whole berry ferment in stainless (20% whole cluster), it is aged for one year in French oak. Smokey bacon, roasted meats, is met with a wave of aromatic violets, baked plum, blueberry jam, and smoked plum. Tannins are soft, and the finish is smoked and short. None of this leads me to pinot noir or Okanagan Valley, but if you're looking for a smoothed, smokey, gutsy red for BBQ burgers, here you go.Tasted: 03 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
