Mendoza, ArgentinaFelino is a rambunctious malbec made with a mix of fruit from the Valle de Uco and Lujan de Cuyo. Big dark plums, crushed raspberries, black licorice and supple midpalate is balanced with oak and soft, lightly smoky tannins. A winter stew or a summer mixed grill of pork and beef would be the match.Tasted: 19 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:
Mendoza, ArgentinaThis Mendoza (Valle de Uco and Lujan de Cuyo) malbec is a Paul Hobbs project, and his Californian hand is evident in this richer, riper, softer, plusher red. After a partial native ferment in stainless, this aged in American oak barrels (10% new) for 8 months. Perfumed plums, baked raspberries, red licorice and waves of peppery spices are carried along a softly grippy, velvet palate to a warming, shorter, pasty finish.Tasted: 03 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
