Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFoundation Vineyard is on the Osoyoos West Bench, one of the warmest sites in all of Canada to grow merlot, and you can smell it snd feel it in the wine, but all in a good way. Expect rich, jammy, full-flavoured black fruit, and at 15 percent abv, it has a bit of punch. The nose is toasted via French oak, mostly absorbed by the fruit. The palate is long and warm but not over the top, and tannins are rich and dense enough to cushion the finish. It is a very appealing style, all you need is to add dinner. A T-bone would be an excellent choice or a grilled Portabello mushroom.Tasted: 27 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Foundation Vineyard, you can feel the warmth of its position on Osooyos’ West Bench. This is a bold, full throttle merlot at 15% declared abv, with jammy, liquered black fruits that are softly accented by fragrant oak spices. It's a style that will appeal widely to those looking for a big red, though expect some lingering coarseness to the tannins. With a wine like this, there’s only one thing to do: throw a steak on the grill and pour a healthy sized glass.Tasted: 25 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
