Turon Artist Series Adelaide Hills Syrah

Turon Artist Series Adelaide Hills Syrah 2018

Adelaide Hills, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide, South Australia, AustraliaYoung winemaker Turon White is one of the leaders of New Wave Adelaide Hills, and wines like this, just a couple vintages in, show why. So named, because each label in the Artist Series is as unique as the wine, designed by Ozzie artist Kellie Em, based on the metaphors Turon described to her. This Adelaide Hills syrah features the lion, all powerful. Dark and brooding in hue, it opens with salty, sultry and savoury tamari notes before transposing to wild cherry, ripe blackberry, thorns, and browning edges. The palate is peppery and intense, lashed with eucalyptus and anise, and tannins are structural and ample, but worn slightly soft. Though this carries a 14.4%, it ends on a fresh note. Ideal with grilled lamb.Tasted: 25 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: BC 45.00 private wine shops Producer: Turon WinesDistributors: Sur Lie
