Lock and Worth Merlot 2019

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom a small sandy soiled plot planted on Naramata Bench in 1995, this was whole berry, entirely destemmed, and had five days of skin contact before being basket pressed into neutral French oak, where it remained for 3-4 months before bottling in spring, unfined and unfiltered. Cloudy crimson in hue, this lighter merlot is flush with smoked plum, wild raspberry, ripe cherries, red currants, scented with a light puff of white smoke. Tannins are downy soft and fine, acidity is fine but bright, carrying this to a kirsch kissed finish. Best with a slight chill.Tasted: 16 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
