Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards Big Leap Chardonnay 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Fitz Chardonnay is estate grown at Greata Ranch (Block 6 in the North Field ) between Peachland and Summerland, on a narrow strip of land between Okanagan Lake and Highway 97. The 2018 style is round and soft with plenty of creamy lees throughout. The nose is a mix of butter, caramel, and baked apple, but still with some acidity to keep it reasonably fresh. It aged for ten months in French oak, but only 10 percent was new. Not quite as electric as the previous version, but fun to sip now. My food match would be crab cakes.Tasted: 26 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards Big Leap Chardonnay 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom their Greata Ranch estate, this is a single block selection that spent 10 months in French oak, 14% new, with monthly bâtonnage, and no MLF. Full, creamy, and wide, with sweet white peach, yellow apples, hints of banana, and lemon blossoms. Acidity is moderate / low, pulling this along to a spiced, fading finish. If you're looking for a gentle, softer style of Okanagan chardy, here you go.Tasted: 08 July 2020Tasted by: Prices:
