Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis isn’t just a curiosity: it makes a serious case for more albariño in the Okanagan. A combination of Naramata (69 percent) and Oliver (31 percent) fruit, this was wild fermented and aged in stainless steel. True to variety, it's semi-aromatic, with white flowers, peach skin, and a sapid salinity. A subtle effervescence gives this a liveliness to the palate, with a linear texture and crisp acidity. It effortlessly carries the 13.8% abv. Nice precision across the board, with good length. Break out the shellfish.Tasted: 22 May 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of BC's best rarities, this albariño is predominantly from Terravista's home vineyard (69%) on the Naramata Bench, with 31% coming from Oliver's Gravelbourg vineyard. After a whole cluster press and cool native ferment in stainless, this remained in steel to preserve the fresh aromatics. Longtime cult winery Terravista has been passed to new stewards now, with Eric and Dallas Thor the new owners, and Nadine Allander the winemaker. Lime pith, white peach, nectarine rule the fleshy palate, carved with a crunchy pear acidity and buoyed with a joyous acidity to a spiced finish. The grape is well suited to BC, as proven by this 5th vintage.Tasted: 11 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:
