Marc Deschamps Les Porcheronnes Pouilly Fumé 2019
Pouilly-Fume, Upper Loire, Loire, FranceI love pouring Pouilly-Fumé for folks that say they don't like sauvignon blanc. This sauvy comes from numerous clay and limestone hilltops in Les Loges, specifically La Cote and Les Griottes, both averaging 20 years in vine age. Bright and upright, with burnished lemon, smoked stone, medicinal-hued Rainier cherry, and guava. Waves of herbal green hedgerow and white grapefruit acidity stream this structural, juicy wine forward to a very long, spiced stone finish.
