Braia Barbera d'Asti 2017

Piedmont, ItalyBarbera can be such a lively, fun, friendly grape, especially when treated simply, respectfully, like this. From the Braia cru, in the town of Aramengo, this was destemmed and fermented in stainless, where it remained for half a year prior to bottling and a two months' rest prior to release. Juicy and joyous with plush cassis, cherries, fleshy blueberries, and inky plums. Tannins are soft, housing this to a mellow, spiced finish. Enjoy as intended, now in youth, with a simple meat and /or mushroom tomato sauced pasta dish.Tasted: 24 June 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
